This is an email I have sent to various people, spelling out the way the Big Reversal Rift has played out affecting the image and student life at Harpur. It is the kind of lay-out we would do in Psychohistory of the Present classes,which needs to be retaught as a course in S* association. I want to post it here, because, as applied psychosemiotics, it ties up an entire moral-religious-philosophical-theological time-era nexus. Student life organizations as a whole are projectively 'dumped' into, as 'dark', quasi-evil, by the larger, containing group and its public audience. What is much less obvious is their link through group process psychodynamics. Both are "barbarian" stories (in H. Bloom's language of "The Lucifer Principle"), oppositely twisted: the 'barbarians' who raped/murdered Stevens are the same "barbarians" who ravaged ('who knows what really went on?') initiates in Harpur Greeks.
